STUDENTS OF THE RESOURCE CENTER PART OF THE "SOCIAL INCLUSION IN MONTENEGRO" PROJECT

05. 04. 2024.

On Thursday, April 4, the second swimming event was organized for the students of the Resource Center for Hearing and Speech "Dr. Peruta Ivanović" Kotor. In the first joint meeting at the pool, apart from students with hearing and/or speech impairments from the Resource Center, participants of the Language Course of the Italian Community of Montenegro, which is a partner in the project, as well as children who train at the VPK "Primorac", took part, which turned out to be a good practice, so this event was also realized in that way.

This opportunity allows children with hearing and/or speech impairments to interact with children without disabilities, at a time when they normally use the indoor pool for training. With this, it enables the full inclusion of children with hearing and/or speech impairments in the regular lives of their peer group, but also shows how important it is to learn other languages, such as the participants of the Language Course of the Italian Community of Montenegro, in order to overcome language barriers for those children who have tendencies towards it.

We remind you that within the framework of the "Social Inclusion in Montenegro" project, every Sunday starting from January 28, swimming events are organized for various vulnerable groups in our city, who, under the supervision of an expert - a physiotherapist, do adapted exercises in the pool, so that they help in the scope their movements or strength, depending on the general condition and needs. The event organized on April 4 is the twelfth out of a total of fifteen planned.

The project "Social Inclusion in Montenegro" is financially supported by the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in accordance with the Law of the FVG Region dated October 30, 2000, No. 19.
