As part of the "Social Inclusion in Montenegro" project, the Municipality of Kotor will also organize two events this week, March 3, 2024, at the "Zoran Džimi Gopčević" indoor swimming pool.

The first swimming event starting at 11:00 am will be dedicated to the elderly and people with physical disabilities. This event is organized in cooperation with the "Grabovac" Old People's Home in Risan and the Day Care Center for the Elderly and People with Disabilities in Rakite.

The second swimming event, starting at 12:00, will be dedicated to school-age children and children with developmental disabilities. This event is organized in cooperation with the day room of the JU Resource Center for Hearing and Speech "Dr Peruta Ivanović".

Participants of the first and second groups will have the opportunity to do warm-up and breathing exercises with an expert, and in the pool exercises to increase the range of motion, strengthen muscles and a light swimming program with props.

As a reminder, in the previous year, the Municipality of Kotor started the implementation of the project "Social Inclusion in Montenegro" financially supported by the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in accordance with the Law of the FVG Region dated October 30, 2000, No. 19.

The main goal of the project is the implementation of activities aimed at the inclusion and social integration of vulnerable groups, especially people with disabilities whose physical and sensory abilities have been impaired in the long term, through sports practice, with the aim of sensori-motor and psychophysical recovery, promoting physical activity as rehabilitative, educational and social. practice according to socio-health protocols.

The project is based on assumptions related to the importance of motor skills and physical activity as a practice not only for rehabilitation, but also because of its essential educational and social value, as a tool for improving the quality of life and health protection and as a means for social integration;
